Who Are You Hanging With

by Alara Castell on January 13, 2012

One of the things I realized last year is the key to growth is community. Not just any community, but the right community that matches you, where you can fully be you and all of you.

The second thing I realized is a key to growth is having the right support. I’ve had many coaches, mentors or whatever you like to call them and I finally feel totally connected with who is supporting me right now.

And it’s all because she works with me in partnership as my sister and we can hang like girlfriends, which is what I do with my ladies. They say it all the time they feel like they are talking with their girlfriend, sitting on the couch, having a cup of tea while we create and play with their vision of their business. And I love it!

And as I have been sharing here is the 3rd video out of the 5, leading up to my SPARK day launch. Yay! In this video I share one person who I have embraced into my life recently, TBird, who is an amazing musician. After we shot this video, I was in constant flow the entire day and it felt amazing. When you are surrounded by playful magic through other amazing people it really does open so many doors for you. Please do follow a long if you like to have a bit of play in your day ;) Just click on the image to watch.

With lots of sparkle magic,

Alara

You are a blast sweetie! So true!!! It seriously matters who you hang with. I didn’t always realize that and used to hang with a few more hurt souls than I really should have. It can drag you down and doesn’t lift your spirit as much as you’d think helping someone out would….I’ve learned it can be a fine line and you have to draw it somewhere. I’m getting closer and closer to those gals I’d rather live with and learn from these days….my world is looking up thanks to my new perspective, and new found friends.
I’m right there with ya, love!

True that. I have been amazed at how important who you spend time with is. I’m blessed to have some great gals in my area who I can hang with. Brainstorm with. Eat with. Write with. Laugh with. Soooo. Sooo important.

And I love the video. So fun. Me thinks I need a musician friend to hang out with.

I removed myself from quite of few groups since starting this journey because I didn’t quite fit. I am still searching for a local tribe I can be a part of. Until our paths cross, I am a solo coffee shop entrepreneur. lol.

Alara – love the box of crayons on the desk behind you in the intro. Says a lot about your creative style! My sister just moved back to the area and we’ve been having co-coaching sessions. Last week we worked through strengths and weakness and help each other get really clear on business goals for the first quarter. It was so wonderful to do this with someone who sees me so clearly, won’t let me wuss out, and how loves me unconditionally. It sounds like you’ve got this kind of relationship with your coach and the gals you coach!

That sounds yummy. Sister play. I don’t have a biological sister, but I do consider some of the ladies I know as sisters. I love how you come together and support each other. yes crayons and crayola washable markers is what is on my desk :) hahah Yes, I do have this relationship with the ladies I work with and from my coach, which really she is my partner in it all. We prefer not to say coach :)

I also noticed the box of crayons, as I too am a Crayola user! LOVE it! I am also a flute player (haven’t done it in years though), so I adored TBirds flute playing, especially at the end! WOW! You are so much fun girl…keep it up!

The older I get, the more true I see this to be. I used to accept the energy vampires and negative views as just part of life. Now, I make a conscious effort to align myself with people that have similar energy and positive views. I’ve also discovered – just as you said – that picking the right mentor or coach is a huge deal. There are so many choices, and while most of them hit all the qualification buttons, not all of them will resonate with you at a deeper level. Kudos to you on finding that and creating it in your own business.
